Benjamin Lieberman is Professor of History at Fitchburg State University where he teaches modern European and World History. His books include Climate Change in Human History: Prehistory to the Present (with Elizabeth Gordon), Remaking Identities: God Nation and Race in World History, Terrible Fate: Ethnic Cleansing in the Making of Modern Europe, and the Holocaust and Genocides in Europe.

He is broadly interested in violence and identity in the making of the modern world.
